What is the RFQ for?

The answer to your question depends on, among other things, (1) what information you want the quoter to provide, (2) how you want that information to be packaged, and (3) how long it would reasonably take the quoter to obtain and package that information. Even if all you want is a price, the reasonable length of time it would take to provide it would in part depend on something like whether the purchase is for an off-the-shelf commercial product or a custom-made product to be built to your specification.

and I completely agree with Vern’s answer. There is zippo context to the question other than a sense of frustration over a solicitation.
