Hello! We got some advance notice for some FPDS changes that are coming that will allow us to report contracts in FPDS and tie it to the EO for "Radical Transparency About Wasteful Spending”. They are adding a new reason for modification called "Legal Cancellation". There's still T4C/C and T4D. Can anyone explain to me when we would use a Legal Cancellation? I've been in contracting for years and cannot for the life of me come up with when we would use that vs normal termination, and I need to explain it to the Acquistion Workforce.

Why speculate? Why not wait for guidance from FPDS?

"Legal Contract Cancellation" is not new to FPDS as a reason for modification. It has been a part of the FPDS Data Dictionary for quite awhile.
