    Is anyone aware of whether there has been an increase in the DoD seeking voluntary refunds under DFARS 242.7100 and DFARS PGI 242.7100?

    Also, is anyone aware of any substantial sources discussing when use of the clause is appropriate or has been used in the past? There’s not much out there on it that I could find.

    Taft, I don't know the answer to your question. My personal feeling is that the DoD OIG has been recommending that COs seek voluntary refunds more often than it has in the past, but even so I can only think of a small handful of such recommendations in the past couple of years.

    I myself would be interested in statistics regarding (a) number of times a voluntary refund is sought and associated dollar amounts, and (2) number of times the attempt has been successful.
