VA Contracting Officials Park $43M and May Have Lost It

    According to the Department of Veterans Affairs Office of the Inspector General, VA contracting officials improperly parked $43 million in annual funds at the Government Printing Office in 2011, and then left it there.

    The VA IG apparently thinks that the funds are no longer available for obligation. You can find the report, dated June 17, (it's short) here:

    Hmmm. Parked for use at their discretion and then they could not find a use for it.. Maybe some ethics handbooks would have came in handy. :lol:

    Oh well, our vets lost a little services and the taxpayers won a little if the funds were not used and no longer available.
