Incremental Funding

Does the FAR prohibit incremental funding of Time and Material (T&M) contracts? I know incremental funding is allowed on cost reimbursement type contracts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the T&M contracts I've managed were incrementally funded. One was a large IDIQ T&M that provided services (basically staff augmentation of about 160 contractors) - the funding came from several sources within the Government and wasn't always available to fund the individual Tasks for the entire option year. The CO would exercise the Option Year for the entire contract, but the some Tasks would get funded for the entire option year and several other Tasks were funding quarterly.
