Major error by contracting officer -- what happens now?

Sorry for the double-post, but not sure where to put this: 

Is the source selection contaminated and irrecoverable?  Or is there something we can do to preserve the acquisition (such as quarantine the information and provide assurance that the information did not influence our proposal revision?
